Title: Carpenter/General Maintenance 

 

Reports to: Director of Operations

 

Start Date: Immediate

 

 

Essential Functions:

• Performs all of the necessary duties associated with carpentry tasks in repair, alteration, and construction of wooden, metal, and masonry structures and equipment

• Determines material requirements, plans, designs, fabricates and installs equipment and structures associated with the carpentry trade

• Erects, moves, and works from scaffolds or ladders

• Maintains repairs, and constructs a variety of equipment and structural systems including, but not limited to: Framing, drywall, finishes, roofs, ceilings, walls, doors, windows, cabinets, furniture, associated door and window hardware, steps, ramps, concrete, walkways, etc…

• Repair, replace, and hang doors and windows, as well as install or replace associated hardware

• Repair and replace floor tile and carpet

• Repair, replace, and install various types of ceilings, drywall, grids, and ceiling tiles

• Perform rough and finish carpentry, as well as frame walls

• Construct ramps and steps for modular units, etc…

• Form and pour concrete for sidewalks and pads

• Haul, place, and level gravel for walkways and associated areas

• Locate and repair roof leaks on various types of roofing materials

• Possess a safe working knowledge of all aspects of the carpentry trade

• Skillled in the use of all tools (hand and power): measuring devices, fasteners, and materials associated with the carpentry and general maintenance trade

• Cleans and maintains equipment, tools and supplies

• Assess and maintain acceptable materials and inventory levels

• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and sketches

• Proficient in the use of computers, all associated software, and programs required to complete the daily operations

• Exercise personal and professional judgment, exhibit initiative, and demonstrate the ability to work independently on a daily basis

• Performs various other duties as assigned and deemed essential by the director for completion of daily operations.
