JOB VACANCY 

 

 

POSITION TITLE:  School Psychologist     

   

SITE:  Shared Schools         

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Exceptional Children

 

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  10 Month

 

SALARY: Per NC State Salary Schedule plus local supplement

 

 

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED: 

  • Must hold or be eligible to hold appropriate NC Licensure from the NC Department of Public Instruction

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collect, manage, and interpret individual and group data to assist in improving outcomes for students (e.g., designing interventions, monitoring student progress, consulting with school administrators and teachers, and communicating research findings to the school setting). 
  • Participate on pre-referral teams to help students achieve success within the regular education setting. 
  • Evaluate the intellectual, academic, behavioral, perceptual-motor skills, emotional adjustment, and readiness for learning of students.
  • Interpret psycho-educational findings and conducts conferences. 
  • Assist schools to prepare for and respond to crisis situations. 
  • Provide consultation and training for students, parents, and school staff. 
  • Maintain the highest ethical, professional, and legal standards as well as federal/state/local policies in the delivery of school psychological services. 
  • Recognize when issues of diversity affect the manner and nature of interactions with others and adapt/modify practices in response. 
  • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
